We’re never too old to change. The oldest patient I have treated with the revolutionary PicoSure laser for tattoo removal was also the youngest when she got her tattoo. She was only 12 years old when she first got inked and 82 years old when I removed the tattoo. It was homemade, done in India ink and located on her right shoulder. It was the initials of someone’s name and she couldn’t even remember whose initials they were, but she was 82 so that’s a pretty good excuse.
Let’s face it, we can forget a lot in 70 years. One thing she hadn’t forgotten was the beating she got when her father saw that tattoo the next morning. She told me she remembered that quite clearly. The artist was her brother; he also got a beating.
I noticed the skin around her tattoo was hypopigmented and I asked her why? She told me that she had been putting a piece of tape on that tattoo every day since the day after she’d gotten it. Now that’s some seriously old tattoo regret. What creative ways have you used to cover your unwanted tattoo? It required a single treatment with PicoSure to remove her tattoo but probably would’ve taken much longer using POS q-switched nano-slow lasers. I saw her the other day and looked for it, but it was all gone. We’re never too old to change.
